CAMBRIDGE OFFERS TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATION TO K-12 STUDENTS WORLDWIDE
 
May 1, 2000 (LOS ANGELES, CA) – Futurekids, Inc., a world leader in helping schools use technology to transform education, today unveiled a new partnership with world-renowned Cambridge International Examinations, a department of the University of Cambridge. Together, they will offer technology training and assessment that earns students, ages 6-16, Cambridge Starter Award Certification in technology skills and applications. The skills and applications required are articulated according to Cambridge student learning standards in word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, graphics, multimedia, programming, and the Internet. This certification serves to acknowledge students today for their diligence and achievement in developing essential technology skills.

The certification program is available through the Cambridge International Examinations, a part of the University established in 1858 in order to set a standard of efficiency for schools in England. The program covers a wide range of academic and vocational subjects and includes a variety of programs specially designed for the international market. Futurekids’ partnership with the university will help broaden worldwide access to the certification program, by providing students worldwide the learning experiences they need to meet and exceed Cambridge certification standards.
