CDW Extends Sapphire Partner Designation to Futurekids
El Segundo, Calif. – Nov. 26,
2007 - Futurekids announced today that CDW Corporation, a leading source
of Information Technology (IT) solutions to governments and educators, has
extended its Sapphire partner designation to the company, recognizing the
continued importance that professional development has to the success of
21st century classroom and one-to-one computing initiatives.
“As
Futurekids expands its 21st century classroom solution it has become an
increasingly more important partner of CDW’s public sector subsidiary, CDW
Government,” said Bob Kirby, senior director for K-12 education, CDW-G.
“Through the Pennsylvania Classrooms for the Future initiative, we have
seen first-hand the impact of quality professional development on the
overall success of technology programs.”
Dzana Homan, CEO of
Futurekids, welcomed the extension of the Sapphire designation, which is
based on a number of key factors including strategic value, market demand
and brand recognition.
“We’re firm believers that an integrated
technology solution is in the best interest of a district or, in the case
of Pennsylvania, an entire state,” said Ms. Homan. “It’s especially
gratifying to see the improvement the teachers have made as they’ve become
more proficient with technology and begun to integrate it into the
classroom. It’s the cornerstone of the 21st century classroom.”
The
project for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has just entered its second
year of a multi-year contract with CDW-G, with Futurekids as one of its
partners.
“CDW-G has been a great partner for Futurekids, as has
the Pennsylvania Department of Education,” said Ms. Homan. “Equipping
every high school teacher and student in the state with a laptop, is a
Herculean effort. Our goal is to get them to become proficient and
eventually master technology in the classroom. We’re well on our way to
accomplishing that.”
